The Ohio & Erie Canal was built in 1825, carved from the wilderness to provide an invaluable link from Lake Erie to the Ohio River creating an inland water route between the East Coast and Gulf of Mexico. Using the canal, area farmers could ship their products, including corn, wheat and whiskey to be enjoyed throughout the world. Legend says after the catastrophic flood in 1913 bootleggers used remnants of the canal during prohibition. Today, we honor rich history by serving the best brews from the region.
